Zucchini Bread
Growing up, I only had zucchini two ways: in a cake and in a loaf. I really should probably learn to like it without all the carbs, but it’s so good and is always a fun Summer treat. I made zucchini cake earlier this Summer, but it kind of flopped. I’ll try that again later; as for now, I’ll post the recipe for the zucchini bread since it turned out better. Brownies
Ryan and I are a part of an Impact Group with our church and we met this past Sunday for Bible study. We always have dinner as a group before our study, so I needed to come up with something to share. I knew they were planning to grill and, with it being Summer, I thought homemade vanilla ice cream would be a nice addition. I had just made a new gallon of ice cream a few days prior, so that was ready to go. But, I needed something to go with the ice cream. Growing up, my grandma usually served brownies with ice cream. The two items just pair…

Playing Catch-Up
It’s been a week since I’ve had a chance to update my blog. My youngest sister and her family came to Iowa last Wednesday to visit my husband and me before their oldest kids started school. They left Saturday morning and I had every intention of posting some pictures of their visit along with a few new recipes. And, then I got a migraine. If you’ve had those before, you know they can be debilitating. If you’ve never had those before, consider yourself blessed. Ever since the weekend, I’ve been trying to play catch up at the farm. Family Visits I really enjoy when my family comes up here to…

Mashed Strawberries

New month, new challenges/adventures
I think we can all agree that 2020 has been a roller coaster of a year. It feels as though, with each new month we start, many of us are holding our breath and wondering what the new month will bring. More surprises that turn into challenges or adventures that we didn’t sign up for? Something happy and exciting? Or, dare I say, will it be fairly normal? New Outlook This Summer has not been without it’s challenges for me personally. I’ve really struggled with what God has planned (and not knowing what the next few months hold). I know I have to trust Him and His timing, but I’m…
